I started performing solo guitar seriously in 2014, after a number of duo collaborations with dancers and artists. In 2018, I performed live for 90 minutes at the premiere Sleep Concert in Weimar, Germany, a challenging but rewarding experience both musically and psychologically. I’ve has continued to perform improvised and semi-improvised solo concerts in Weimar, Germany, including Sleep Concerts for two hours in January 2019 and September 2020.
Learning By Doing
I’m currently working on a diverse solo program in which I try to combine my work with electric guitar, live-coding, spectral music, West-African and Afro-Cuban music with equally important interests in gender identity, movement (using MiniBee sensors), taking risks and making mistakes. A lot of these are new ideas for me and the gigs are generally pretty rough and unpolished. Learning By Doing was the most fitting name I could come up with.
